Please take note of a crucial change to our upcoming June meeting schedule. We’ve had to adjust the date due to a scheduling conflict with the major Transportation conference taking place later that week.
Originally scheduled for June 24th, our June union meeting has been moved to Monday, June 17th @ 2:30PM
We are waiting to receive the nomination results from all forty-four Locals. Once we have those results, our election tellers will verify eligibility for all nominees and give us the list of names to post to our membership. Please view this post for more information.
After a six-year hiatus, IAM District 142 convened in Las Vegas for its latest convention. The event featured prominent speakers, including IAM International President Brian Bryant, General Secretary-Treasurer Dora Cervantes, and Air Transport Territory General Vice President Richie Johnsen, who addressed delegates alongside other union and industry experts. Discussions centered on the current political landscape, Railway Labor Act negotiations, and the critical role of member education. Delegates also participated in bylaw votes to guide the district’s direction for the next four years. District 142 President and Directing General Chair John Coveny highlighted the convention’s importance in preparing for upcoming negotiations and legislative hurdles, with a focus on member engagement and strategic goal setting.
As we embrace this holiday season, I want to take a moment to extend my warmest wishes to each and every one of you. This is a time for reflection and gratitude, and I am truly thankful for the dedication and hard work you all contribute to the IAM.
